prisoner-causes-outrage-by-showing-off-on-tiktok-the-luxuries-with-which-he-lives-in-a-british-prison

A prisoner who is housed in a prison in Great Britain provoked outrage on social networks following videos in which he showed off the striking cell in which he is serving his 7-year sentence for fraud.

The inmate went viral on TikTok after showing off the facilities he shares with his peers and the luxuries they enjoy in lockdown. “When your prison cell looks like a hotel room,” the individual commented as he toured the place.

In a fragment of the clip you can see state-of-the-art television equipment, a room humidifier , stereos and even a landline phone. All this caused the publication to go viral and thousands of Internet users to launch their fury against the subject.

“I think I could break the law for a comfortable bed and in peace”, wrote a young mother of 3 children. While another netizen expressed: “I can’t believe I pay taxes for this.” For his part, another user said: “This is very sad.”

According to the Daily Star, the young man had been in prison for a total of 4 years and only had 3 left to serve. His sentence. However, there is still no information regarding the decision that the officials will make after his luxurious lifestyle in prison is known.

Without thinking that the recordings would cause such a stir, the subject used to proudly show each sector of his cell. One of the most common scenes was the place where the Smart TV was located, in which he configured different images to set the scene, such as that of a fireplace: “Night by the fire,” he wrote.

Although these images provoked the anger of many users, the ones that generated the most negative comments were others in which some inmates are seen wearing branded clothing high-end brands like Chanel, Hugo Boss and Lacoste. To preserve the identity of the subjects, the young man was cautious and hid the faces with emojis.

In the comments, users speculated that the man could be in a security prison with minimal restrictions, which that allows prisoners to spend most of the day out of jail and with licenses to study and work.

The protagonist of the videos calls himself HMP Unknown, and in a few days he received much popularity. So much so that he made the decision to completely close his account, after the police authorities found out what had happened.

The publications received more than one million reproductions and the inmate had reached 10,000 followers since its debut on the content platform, last 18 February.
