Figures from different fields have come together to condemn the invasion of Ukraine after Russian President Vladimir Putin launched his offensive last 23 February.

One of the first was the actor Javier Bardem, who led the demonstration in front of the Russian Embassy in Madrid to demand an end to the attacks.

“I have come in a personal capacity to express my condemnation of this absurd and cruel attack by Putin on Ukraine”, he sentenced.

I join in solidarity with all those who have been affected by these attacks against Ukraine, and with the global community that is demanding an immediate end to the violence”, said Miley Cyrus.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, did not hesitate to position themselves clearly in the face of the armed conflict and issued a statement in this regard on their website: “We stand with the people of Ukraine and against this violation of international and humanitarian law. And we encourage the international community to do the same”, reads an excerpt from the note.
