Israel Flores, a man 27 years old, is in custody at the hospital where was admitted after allegedly attempting suicide after killing a young woman in an apartment in the Bronx (NYC).
The police believe it is a case of homicide and attempted suicide. NYPD officers responded to an assault call at an apartment on Arthur Avenue near E. 180th St. in the Crotona neighborhood, yesterday around 7 am and they found a woman from 24 years there with a cut throat. She was identified as Denise Caamano and pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers also found Flores injured in the apartment, near the deceased. Her throat was also slit and a knife was recovered at the scene, according to the NYPD. It is not clear who called the police or the link between Flores and Caamano.
After being taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition, Flores was arrested. He was then charged with involuntary manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, Daily News reported.
