Pepsi is launching a new flavor that will be a novelty for fans of this drink. And it is that the new creation of the soda company is a cola with nitrogen infusion, which would be the first of its kind. This drink will have a creamier and smoother flavor compared to traditional Pepsi.
The product will be called Nitro Pepsi and will be launched on 28 of March. You can find it in regular cola flavors and another option with vanilla.
It should be noted that nitrogen is already used in beverages, more commonly in beers and coffee, as is the case with some beverages. Starbucks cold. the reason for its use is that the nitrogen gas creates a silky and foamy texture.
However, until now, nitrogen could only be served in drinks served from taps, so that Pepsi had to figure out a way to keep nitrogen in a can.
To solve the problem, Pepsi put a nitrogen capsule in the bottom of the can. This capsule releases the gas when the can is opened and gives a foamy texture to the drink, which can be compared to dark beer.
Pepsi with nitrogen produces a lot of foam when opened the can, so the company recommends drinking it without ice and without using the straw so you can enjoy its consistency more.
Nitro Pepsi, which was first announced in 2019, aims to appeal to drinkers who don’t like carbonated beverages.
“Although soft drinks have been the beverage of choice for so many consumers for the past century, some people still cite intense carbonation as a barrier to enjoying of an icy tail. Nitro Pepsi is a huge leap forward for the cola category and will redefine cola for years to come,” said Todd Kaplan, Vice President of Marketing for Pepsi.
