The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, called this Friday for the Ukrainian Army to “take power” in Kiev and overthrow its president Volodimir Zelenski and his government, whom he classified as “drug addicts and neo-Nazis ”.

“Take power in your hands. It seems to me that it will be easier to negotiate between you and me,” Putin said during an intervention on Russian television, adding: “Your government is a gang of drug addicts and neo-Nazis,” Infobae reported.

Putin declared that he is not fighting army units, but instead, he is facing nationalist formations that, in his opinion, behave as terrorists and as “human shields”.

For its part, the Ministry of Russian Defense, through its spokesman Igor Konashenkov, announced earlier that Russian military units had blockaded the Ukrainian capital from the west, adding that Russian troops continue to carry out missions in Kiev and other cities, AFP reported.

“Currently, the main forces of the airborne troops joined the units that landed at the Hostomel airfield, ensuring the blockade of the city of Kiev” , noted Konashénvov.

“The use by the Kiev regime of residential neighborhoods to locate positions for its artillery is a war crime”, he expressed.
