For its part, the Ministry of Russian Defense, through its spokesman Igor Konashenkov, announced earlier that Russian military units had blockaded the Ukrainian capital from the west, adding that Russian troops continue to carry out missions in Kiev and other cities, AFP reported.
“Currently, the main forces of the airborne troops joined the units that landed at the Hostomel airfield, ensuring the blockade of the city of Kiev” , noted Konashénvov.
