Kentucky Fried Chicken announced that together with the creator of TikTok, Isaiah Garza, they will launch the #KentuckyFriedGivingChallenge, a grant fund that will award $325,000 in cash to organizations nonprofit that fights hunger in communities across the United States.
Through a statement, KFC said it was inspired by philanthropic creators like Isaiah, known for spreading positivity and changing lives through through acts of kindness on TikTok, to create the grant program.
“TikTok has become an influential platform for creators who are passionate about philanthropy. That passion is precisely what inspired us to create the #KentuckyFriedGivingChallenge, the first TikTok giving program benefiting nonprofits,” said Nick Chavez, Chief Marketing Officer, KFC USA
To enter and win up to $100,000 in grants, creators affiliated with a non-profit organization must submit, between the 14 February and March 4, a video up to 30 seconds in length showing how your organization helps your local community.
KFC will award $40,11 to 14 non-profit organizations. Then, between April 8th and 14, fans will have the opportunity to cast their vote. for one of the 14 finalist videos where the grand prize winning non-profit organization will receive $ 60,000 additional.
