trump-is-the-favorite-among-republicans-for-2024,-well-above-ron-desantis

Former President Donald Trump has not confirmed that he will compete in the elections of 2024 to try to return to the White House, but he has toyed with the idea constantly and has the support for it, since a high percentage of Republicans support it.

The 28% of Attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida, selected former President Trump as their favorite for the Republican presidential nomination of 2024.

That places the former president well above his main competitor, the governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, who obtained 28% of the endorsement .

If Trump will not enter the electoral race, so DeSantis leads with 61% of support among attendees of CPAC, the most important gathering among Republicans.

No other Republican stood out in the poll, considered informative wrong, but a clear vision of the base Republican voters.

Former Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, obtained barely 2% support.

Others got just one percent, such as Senators Rand Paul and Ted Cruz (Texas), and former Vice President Mike Pence.

Even if former President Trump did not participate in the elections, most of the possible contenders registered between one and six percentage points, except for DeSantis, who clearly led.

The former president continued his attack speech against President Joe Biden, including his actions in Ukraine.

That and other problems, according to Trump, will be the reason for the Republicans to control Congress by winning the 2022 and return to the White House after the process of the 2024.

“ they will find out the hard way beginning November 8th, and then even more so in November of 2024,” Trump said in his speech. “They will find out like never before.”

He emphasized that, according to him, he won in 2022, as he has argued without evidence.

“We did it twice. We will do it again. We are going to do it again for the third time”, he affirmed.

The poll highlighted that the Republicans believe that the Democratic candidate in 2024 will be Hillary Clinton (22%) against just the 11% which mentioned Vice President Kamala Harris.
