hispanic-woman-printed-fake-lottery-tickets-in-new-york-for-$35,000:-arrested-for-grand-theft

Ana Pachuco, an employee of a convenience store in Long Beach (NY), was arrested for allegedly charging $25,000 dollars worth of counterfeit lottery tickets.

Nassau County Police said she apparently printed lottery tickets illegally in less than six hours at the Liberty Mart store in Long Island on Sunday 20 in February.

“I was surprised,” said Rachel Wahlig, the store owner. “I was completely taken aback.” Wahlig did not find out until Tuesday 22 and added that Pachuco was an employee he trusted.

Pachuco was accused of grand theft. Although she did not have the money, Wahlig had to pay $ 35, 000 dollars to the New York State Lottery so as not to lose her terminal license after the incident. “I am going to lose customers. I will lose sales. People won’t stop here for gas or other items if I don’t offer lottery.”

Wahlig told News12 who tried to negotiate with the state lottery without luck, so he was on the eve of asking for a high-interest loan to compensate the damage caused by the employee.
