i-would-do-it-again”:-ukrainian-sailor-tried-to-sink-the-luxury-yacht-of-his-russian-boss

A sailor of Ukrainian origin decided to take revenge on his own after the military offensive deployed by Russia in Ukraine, and he did so by sinking part of his Russian boss’s luxurious yacht.

Taras Ostapchuck , a 55-year-old sailor, stated that Alexander Mijeev is a millionaire who sells weapons to the Russian army to fight against his country.

The man, who for 10 years had been working as a mechanic for the ship named “Lady Anastasia”, revealed that he opened several valves to let the water in and managed to partially sink the yacht valued at $7.7 million dollars.

Mayorca Daily Bulletin reported that the mechanic was arrested by the Mallorca police in Spain.

“My boss sells weapons that kill the Ukrainian people”, argued Ostapchuck.

The idea of damaging his boss’s luxurious yacht came from Ostapchuck after seeing on the news that Russia had invaded Ukraine and a missile had hit a building in Kiev. At his trial, the man said that his boss is the one who makes those weapons that are killing the Ukrainian people

“I saw the news of the war. There was a video of a helicopter attack on a building in Kiev. The weapons used are produced by the yacht owner’s company, they are attacking innocents. I don’t regret it and I would do it again”, were the sailor’s words.

The ship did not sink completely, but it does have serious damage that will cost the Russian businessman thousands of dollars in repairs.

Taras was released and told the press that he will travel to Ukraine to help defend his country. As soon as he arrives at the first Ukrainian city, he will look for a commander to put himself under his command.

“Why do I need my job if I have a country. I had a good salary as chief mechanic on the ship, but I’m going to fight for my country”, he said.
