A Mexican who migrated to the Dominican Republic and married a woman in that Caribbean country publicly denounced this week that the woman allegedly left him on the street and without key documents.
Although it is not clear if Roberto, as the man identified himself, is still married to the Dominican, what is a fact is that “he is going through Cain’s” for not having an identity card, since supposedly, the woman stayed with his documents and discarded others.
“Well, look, unfortunately, due to circumstances in my life, I came to this country, because I didn’t want to be going through what I’m going through. But, like any migrant in a country that is not theirs, one has difficulties”, begins Roberto’s story reviewed by Noticias Telemicro.
“The truth is that I am having difficulties because I don’t have documents, I don’t have documents to work”, the Mexican insists.
“I married a Dominican, and well, unfortunately I married this woman, she literally left me on the street. I do not have the documents to be able to work. Some of the documents he withheld from me and others he tore up. Although I already put 192 resumes in Bayahibe, Bábaro, Punta Cana, nobody hires me because I don’t have a Dominican ID, ”he narrates desperately.
“I even went to a councillor, it seems to me, and asked him for help to get my identity card, not for anything else, to be able to work; and this person told me that he was not within his powers, “added the interviewee.
” All I want is to work and move forward as a migrant, “said the man .
