The Mexican expeller of the UFC, Caín Velásquez, was placed under arrest this Monday and accused of attempted homicide after a shooting that took place in San José, California.
The information The local police themselves announced this Monday night, assuring that the exchange of fire took place between Monterey Hwy and Bailey Ave and in it a person was injured “with injuries that did not compromise his life.”
Although at the time of the information the authorities confirmed that they had arrested a suspicious, it was not until this Tuesday when they spread that the identity of the custodian was Velásquez himself.
In addition, the police also reported that the wrestler from 39 years is being held in the Santa Clara County main jail and that the motive and circumstances of the incident are still being investigated.
The records in this detention center reported that Velásquez is without bail and according to TMZ he will have a court hearing this Wednesday, March 2.
Caín Velasquez has been retired from the UFC since 2019, the date on which he participated in his last fight against Francis Ngannou and where he received a withering KO by the Cameroonian after bending his knee and losing his guard.
After his retirement that year, he has participated in Wrestling for WWE and AAA promoters being his last experience on December 4.
