The war between Russia and Ukraine continues to cause effects in the world, especially in the sporting aspect. An example of this is that the gas company Gazprom not only stopped sponsoring Schalke 04, but also with all UEFA competitions.
According to information from Market Rebellion, last weekend the authorities found the body of Alexander Tyulakov, of 61 years, who was serving as deputy general director of Gazprom. Apparently, it was a suicide.
The Russian portal 47news reports that the Russian agents saw the deceased tied to a rope in the garage of his home, located in Gorki Léninskiye, in the Léninsky District, at 10 kilometers south of Moscow. So far, Gazprom has not commented.
Gazprom’s power
Gazprom is the world’s largest publicly traded natural gas company, and the largest in Russia by revenue. His contract with UEFA was valid from 2012 to 2024, and was estimated to be at least $27 million dollars per year.
In fact, the Champions League final was going to be played at the Gazprom Arena, in Saint Petersburg, but UEFA changed it to the Stade de France. This assumes a hit between $68 and $78 million dollars in the city where Vladimir Putin was born.
