As a consequence of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the company Electronic Artes made the decision not only to eliminate the Russian national team, but also all its teams from the FIFA video game 22.
“EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and, like so many voices within the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine”, begins the statement of the American company, published this Wednesday on Twitter.
Along the same lines, it stands out: “Following our partners, such as FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports has begun the process of removing the Russian national team and all Russian clubs from EA Sports FIFA products, including FIFA 13, FIFA Mobile and FIFA Online”.
“We continue to evaluate making changes to other ras areas of our games. We will keep our communities informed of any actions we take, and we thank players for their patience as we work through these changes.”
The video game distributor also announced that it will eliminate the Russian and Belarusian teams from the NHL 13 in the coming weeks: “We stand with the Ukrainian people and join the voices around the world calling for peace.”
In this sense, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, asked the multinationals PlayStation and Xbox to abandon their commercial activities in Russia and Belarus. This measure is already effective with Apple.
