Three teenagers and the mother of one of them are charged in connection with the death of a minor in Texas who died after being shot and thrown from a moving vehicle.
Through a statement, the Mesquite Police Department reported that on the night of 18 January, a witness called the authorities to report that he had seen a man fall from a car, in what was initially believed to be a car accident.
But upon arrival, officers found a teen lying on the ground with what appeared to be a puncture wound to the chest, police said.
The victim was identified by his family as Key’Mydre Palmer Anderson.
The adolescent of 16 years old was found without clothes and scratches all over his skin, his mother Shenika Palmer told WFAA.
“They said that his whole body was skin, as if he had been dragged,” Palmer told the outlet. “The witness says that he was hanging . My baby was holding. I didn’t want to go”.
The woman told WFAA that a man ran to help her son, covering him with a jacket to keep him warm until the ambulance arrived.
Despite the efforts of the paramedics at the scene to save him, the teenager was pronounced dead in a local hospital.
It was later determined that the wound in his chest was not from a sharp weapon, but had been caused by a bullet.
“An extensive investigation by Mesquite Police Department detectives revealed that this tragic incident occurred as a result of a botched robbery attempt involving the sale/trade of a firearm,” the department said in the statement. .
Johnathan Pyle, 19, of Dallas; Simón Guillén, 18, from Wilmer; Crystal Guillen, aged 34, from Wilmer, who is Simon’s mother; and an unidentified boy aged from Dallas, are the detainees related to this case .
All have been charged with capital murder.
