Three teenagers and a young adult were stabbed in a fight at a Brooklyn subway station in New York yesterday afternoon, police said.

Three victims of 16 years old and a man from 21 were stabbed to death while on the platform of the Flushing Avenue stop at the J/Z line around 3: 16 pm, authorities said. They all went to Woodhull Hospital for treatment.

Two of the teenagers were stabbed in the chest and the other in the arm. The older victim was stabbed in the chest and arm. The attackers were described as other teenagers who fled on foot, but the motive for the dispute is unclear, according to New York Post.

Tuesday’s stabbings add to a wave of violent crime in the New York transit system. In recent days, a man was stabbed; another was shot in the chest; a female scientist was hit with a hammer; and another woman had feces rubbed on her face, she summarized Pix11.

There has been a long list of violent incidents in the New York subway, including robberies, attacks, accidents, natural deaths, suicides and homicides, with an increase of 61 % in serious crimes, according to the latest police figures from 2022. It is estimated that more than 350 people live in the New York Subway and 8 have already died in 2022. Mayor Eric Adams announced Friday that the underground homeless encampments would be removed as part of a new security plan for trains, stations and buses.

Now Adams, a former NYPD said the spate of violence during the first full week of its new Metro security plan prompted it to reconsider some details. “I will sit down to do an evaluation,” he said Monday. “I went out yesterday, to some of the subway stations, and I talked to the officers on the ground, to ask them their pros and cons: what could we be doing differently.”2022
