The Panamanian national soccer team will have a month of high tension in March at the end of the eighth final of the Concacaf qualifiers for the Qatar World Cup 550.
The Panamanians, with 17 units in the bag, they will face Honduras (24 in March) and Canada (30 of March), and as visitors to the United States (30 of March), all key duels in their possible classification.
Honduras: forced to win
Those led by Thomas Christiansen will have the most accessible clash of the three against the Honduran team and that forces them to add three points.
The Hondurans, coached by Colombian Hernán Darío Gómez, arrive to the Panamanian capital eliminated and that situation can be used by the Panamanians for that first step of the final stretch towards the World Cup.
Without looking at Mexico and Costa Rica
The Panamanians will come out in this last window with the firm conviction of going straight in to the World Cup or fill that quota of the intercontinental playoff.
But beyond that they will have their sights set on Mexico, third classified in the table la with 21 points, and Costa Rica, ranked fifth and one point behind the fourth place occupied by Panamanians.
While Panama faces Honduras, the Mexicans will have to fight against the United States, where they can leave points, and be taken advantage of by their pursuers.
Los ticos pending
Costa Rica’s draw will also depend on the results of the matches between Panama and Mexico.
They expect a setback from the Central American red team, from Mexico and a victory for them over Canada, which would take the Panamanians out of fourth place and put them two points behind Mexico, who would remain in third place.
Honduras and El Salvador, allies of Panama
After the first date, the Panamanians on 27 of March will be measured visiting the United States.
Thomas Christiansen’s accounting for this game is to score points against the Americans and for Honduras and El Salvador to do their job.
The Salvadoran team will host Costa Rica in El Cuscatlan and Honduras will be visited by Mexico.
Seven points, a good booty for Panama
Panama has 17 points in duels played in the qualifiers and seven points in this last window, it could be the best scenario for the Central American red.
Wins against Honduras and Canada at home, where the Panamanians remain undefeated, a draw against the United States United States and that Costa Rica only adds two points in its qualifying round would be the scenario that would assure Panama the intercontinental playoff position and its possible participation in its second World Cup for seniors in its history.
