Wisconsin Suring Public Schools Superintendent Kelly Casper faces criminal charges for conducting a series of strip searches of a group of students inside a high school bathroom looking for vaping devices .

According to a criminal complaint filed by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, the 51 year-old woman faces six counts of false imprisonment after searching six Suring High School students and having four girls stripped to their underwear in the school bathroom.

The other two students involved in the search reported that they were not wearing underwear, which is why which they were allowed to leave the tights they were wearing.

According to the complaint, Kelly Casper deprived the six minors of their liberty for a few minutes “without the consent of those women and knowing that he did not have the legal authority to do so”.

Weeks After the events, the victims had an encounter with the police and confirmed that Kelly Casper was trying to find some vaporizers, as well as vaporizer cartridges, adding that the search took place in the bathroom of the school infirmary.

Oconto County District Attorney Edward J. Burke said the school nurse was ordered to be present at the search.

“Once the children took off their clothes, any chance they had to escape would have subjected them to more embarrassment… None of the children involved were allowed to leave. The only choice they were given was for the search (for the vapes) to be done by a police officer or (by) Casper. None of the children were allowed to contact their parents prior to being confined to the bathroom,” Burke added.

Each charge Kelly Casper faces carries a possible six-year prison sentence and a fine of $10,000.
