The city of Odessa is on alert for the possible attack of a flotilla of Russian ships advancing through the Black Sea, which would make it easier for the Russian Army to make its way from the south of Ukraine to carry out its target.
“Russian amphibious assault ships in the Black Sea were prepared for a possible attack near Odessa,” reported The Telegraph.
The report cites information from the city government, in addition to publishing images of the ships advancing towards that territory. The ships carry tanks and hundreds of troops that could be deployed on land.
Each of the ships of the Vladimir Putin regime, it was added, is capable of carrying surface-to-air missiles, 20 tanks and 300 soldiers.
In addition, five Ropucha-class ships could launch 10 tanks and allow the deployment of 190 soldiers on the ground each.
This could increase the displacement of refugees, especially after confirming that the Russians already control the city of Kherson.
Progress of Russian troops comes despite reports that the Turkish government rejected several Russian requests to let military ships pass from the Mediterranean Sea to the Black Sea, according to Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavusoglu.
The new report indicates that the arrival of the Russian military could allow them to advance on two routes to the north or east of Ukraine.
“The force it could move north, to threaten Kiev from the south… or turn east to consolidate the land corridor between Crimea and the Russian border, considered one of Putin’s main objectives,” it explains.
