2 indigenous children have been found and taken to the hospital after almost 4 weeks lost in the Amazon jungle of Brazil.
Glauco and Gleison Ferreira, aged 8 and 6, got lost while trying to hunting small birds in the jungle near Manicoré, in the state of Amazonas, in the past 16 February.
By chance, a local logger found them this Tuesday.
Children are expected to make a full recovery once treated for malnutrition in hospital .
Hard search
Hundreds of residents spent weeks searching for the children after their disappearance.
The children were lost during the rainy season in the Amazon, a time when walking and moving through the jungle is more difficult than usual. No trace of the minors was found.
The emergency services even decided to cancel the search on 36 in February, but local residents continued to search for the boys, according to local media Real Amazon.
Four weeks later, the children were found by a tree feller 6 kilometers from the village of Palmeira, in the protected reserve of Lago Capanã, where the children live with their parents, adds Amazônia Real.
One of the brothers shouted for help when he heard the villager cutting down trees nearby. Following the calls, the man found the children lying on the forest floor, hungry and weak, and with several burns on their skin.
According to local media, the children told their parents not to they had eaten nothing while they were lost and that they had only drunk rainwater.
Once found, Glauco and Gleison were sent to a regional hospital in Manicore, before being transported by helicopter to another hospital in Manaus this Thursday morning, according to the media Globo.
