This Friday, the United States Department of the Treasury sanctioned the leaders of the Guatemalan Los Huistas cartel, Eugenio Darío Molina and Aler Baldomero, alias “El Chicharra”, accused of drug trafficking and for their links with organizations Mexican criminals.

The same instance offered a reward of up to 10 million dollars to anyone who offer sufficient information to find Molina’s arrest.

The Public Ministry of Guatemala reinforced the reward measure and announced through the official social networks that they are looking for Molina and the rest of the members of that gang.

The Department of the Treasury ordered a blockade of the properties and transactions that are under US legislation both for the organization and individually for the leaders of Los Huistas since 2012, according to what was detailed by the EFE news agency.

The US justice system also sanctioned five other members of the criminal organization, as well as the coffee company Café Captzin, which is presumed to be indirectly controlled by Molina.

According to the authorities, this criminal organization is being accused of trafficking cocaine, controlling poppy fields in Huehuetenango and San Marcos, importing chemical precursors for methamphetamine from China, in addition to carrying out operations money laundering rations.
