This Wednesday afternoon a man 71 years old drowned on a beach in Fajardo, a municipality on the coast east of Puerto Rico, according to the news agency EFE.
The elderly person identified as Douglas Bruce Adams, was a resident of the state of Ohio, USA, and was vacationing in Puerto Rico.
According to the information reported by EFE, the Puerto Rican authorities would have received a call to the Emergency System 911 about a person who was dragged by the sea currents in the Seven Seas resort of the aforementioned municipality.
The body of the deceased was recovered by Municipal Search and Rescue personnel to later be identified by his son.
In the early hours of the morning of this same Wednesday, the Service National Meteorology in San Juan warned about strong sea currents in several areas of Puerto R ico.
