The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that Bravo Packing, Inc. of Carneys Point, NJ, carried out a voluntary recall of pet food products because the presence of Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes was identified in them .

During an FDA inspection, samples collected tested positive for said bacteria and were ordered withdrawn from the market due to potential health risks to humans and pets.

– “Beef” Frozen Raw Dog Food (chub – ground), 2 lbs .
– “Meat of e vacuno” (chub – ground) frozen raw dog food, 5 lbs.
– “Performance Dog” raw frozen dog food (empanadas).
– “Mondongo Frozen Raw Dog Food ¼ Pound Patties.
– Bones (Smoked) 14 varieties.

Salmonella can cause illness in pets that consume the products, as well as in people who handle contaminated pet food, especially if hands have not been washed thoroughly after contact with the products, infected pets, or any surfaces exposed to contamination. this bacterium.

People infected with Salmonella may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever. If these symptoms occur after contact with the products identified in this recall or with a pet that has eaten these products, individuals should contact their health care providers.

A pet with a Salmonella infection may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting, in addition to decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. If your pet has consumed the recalled products and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian.
