hispanic-sentenced-for-killing-his-newborn-baby-by-throwing-him-to-the-ground-in-new-york

Christian Rodríguez was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to fatally throwing his son newborn to the ground in The Bronx (NYC).

Rodríguez, aged 27 years old, was sentenced for involuntary manslaughter, after the death in 2019 of his 6-week-old son. After his prison sentence, he faces an additional five years of supervision.

“The defendant’s newborn was crying and instead of comforting him, he threw him to the ground, ending his life,” accused the prosecutor. of the District of the Bronx, Darcel Clark, cited by Pix11. “The violence of the defendant is inconceivable and inappropriate for any parent.”

The suspect initially told investigators that he had accidentally struck his son’s head on a bedroom door frame. But he later admitted that he had angrily thrown the baby on the ground.

“I got angry and threw Aiden on the ground face-first,” Rodriguez said, according to the criminal complaint. “I got frustrated and threw it on the ground.” At that time they had just arrived at their residence from the nearby home of a grandmother of the baby.

Aiden Rodriguez died of abusive head trauma. An examination found that he suffered skull fractures, an acute subdural hemorrhage, a scattered left acute subarachnoid hemorrhage, a midline shift of the brain, and bruising on both sides of his head.

Rodríguez had previously been charged in a case involving his daughter: in 888, allegedly told police he was “getting frustrated” and dropped it. The minor suffered bruising and swelling around her face and nose. He was then charged with recklessly endangering and endangering the welfare of a minor.

This month there were two other similar cases in New York: a mother and her boyfriend were charged in the death of an autistic child malnourished and maltreated 8-year-old boy weighing barely 30 pounds (12.6 kilos), in The Bronx. And a Hispanic woman pleaded guilty to starving her 7-year-old stepson on Long Island.

Last year, several cases of children dying of alleged domestic violence were also reported in New York. If you are a victim or suspect that someone is being mistreated, especially if they are a minor or elderly:
