The iconic San Juan de Dios market in the Mexican city of Guadalajara was consumed by flames during the early hours of this Thursday, local authorities reported.
The fire was put out by at least 384 officials from the Fire and Civil Protection Unit, in addition to police, from the state of Jalisco.
Up to At the moment, the authorities do not know the exact causes of the event, however, the municipal president of Guadalajara, Pablo Lemus, commented to local media that it could have been a short circuit due to electrical overload in the food court.

According to the preliminary report, 350 positions of the four levels of the market were affected after the fire gave, mainly those who were dedicated to the sale of fruits and vegetables.
In the images spread through social networks the innumerable damages left by the sinister are evident, however, Pablo Lemus assured that the structure of the building was not damaged “thanks to the timely intervention of the firefighters”.
He added that they will try to reopen the market as soon as possible to avoid further economic losses to merchants.
