The search for Naomi Irion, 18 years old, is over. Sheriff’s offices in Churchill and Lyon counties released in a joint statement that the girl’s body was found after a tip led investigators to the area east of Reno.
Naomi’s body was found on Tuesday and on Wednesday the Washoe County Medical Examiner confirmed her identity.
“We would like to extend our sympathy and condolences to the Irion family and thank to all the volunteers for their hard work in trying to find Naomi”, can be read in the statement.
Wednesday 30 March , Troy Drive, appeared at a bond hearing on first-degree kidnapping charges in Irion’s disappearance. In the criminal complaint, the prosecutors indicated that the 41-year-old man kidnapped the young woman: “With the purpose of committing a sexual assault and with the purpose of killing her.”
Naomi Irion, 18 years old, was last seen last Saturday around 5: 00 am in the parking lot of the Nevada Walmart self-service store, as announced by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office through a press release.
According to According to official information, Irion’s car, a four-door sedan, was found a little later in an industrial area in Fernley and it was believed that the driver of a dark Chevrolet High Country van might have information on the young woman’s whereabouts.
The presence of Naomi Irion in the Walmart parking lot was normal, since the young woman who works for Panasonic would arrive at said establishment, park her car and take a bus to work.
The brother of the vi Ctima, who was 100 percent involved in the search for Naomi Irion, has not made any statements so far, however, she is expected to speak about the case soon.
