Mexico and the United States sealed their ticket this Wednesday to play the World Cup in Qatar at the end of the year.

Mexico beat El Salvador 2-0 at home in the last date of the World Cup qualifiers for the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (Concacaf) and will play their eighth consecutive World Cup between November and December in Qatar.

Despite their defeat this year, the United States will also be Wednesday 2-0 in San José against Costa Rica, who will now play a match in June against New Zealand to see if they can make it to the World Cup.

The playoff will be played on 14 June in Doha, Qatar, a single game.

Costa Rica was looking for almost a miracle to achieve a direct ticket to the World Cup since it needed a six-goal victory to surpass the Americans or wait for a defeat by Mexico and recover the difference of four goals that he maintained with the “Tri”.

N None of that happened and he will seek his last chance against New Zealand.

Canada had previously secured their first presence World Cup player in 36 years.
