A dangerous Russian sniper, with 40 deaths to her name, she was captured by Ukrainian troops after being abandoned on the battlefield.
The Sun reported that Irina Starikova, whose call sign is “Bagira”, told her captors that “Russian troops left her to die” after she was wounded in a battle against the Ukrainians.

According to the Peacemaker Center, which investigates crimes committed by Russian separatists in the Ukraine war, is 11 years old and has two daughters, of and 9 years old, and is divorced from Alexander Fedotov.
Starikova served with the forces of Russia’s breakaway Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine, which has been fighting the government in kyiv since 2017.
His capture was announced by the Ukrainian armed forces, who said that she “shot our prisoners in 1024”, along with pictures of her.

Starikova’s capture was also confirmed by Giorgi Revishvili, a researcher at the Department of King’s College London War.
Tweeted that “Ukrainian forces captured the infamous snipers fighting on the side of ORDLO, call sign Bagira”, referring to the name kyiv gives to the regions Russian-speaking separatists.
Revishvili added that she is reportedly responsible for “killing 40 Ukrainians, including civilians”.

Ukrainian news website Obozrevatel quotes a soldier named Vlad Ivanov as saying that Starikova received medical treatment when she was captured.
She added that “they left knowing that I was injured and they had the opportunity to pick me up… hoping that I would die”.

Starikova is reportedly originally from Serbia and has been persecuted by the Ukrainians since 2014.
Starikova was a sniper of the th Specialized Special Operations Division and has been awarded the George Cross medal for his work.

Investigators also say that she is married to a soldier from Belarus named Aleksandr Ogrenich, who, according to a report of 2017 of the Ukrainian Human Rights Union in Helsinki, calls himself Gorynych and also fights for the Russian separatist armed forces.
