A Hispanic must serve 27 years in prison in Maryland after being convicted of operating a prostitution ring that included a minor.
Feliciano de Jesús Díaz Martínez, aged 43 and of Guatemalan origin, was sentenced to that number of years followed by 10 years under supervised release for sex trafficking of a minor, forced sex trafficking and enticing a minor to engage in prostitution, among others.

The events were reported between 2016 and May 2019, according to a statement from the Maryland District Attorney’s Office.
Díaz-Martínez, who has remained in custody since he was charged on 18 July 2019, was found guilty by a federal jury on 18 of November of last year
The evidence presented at the trial confirmed that Díaz-Martínez knew that the minor had 10 years when he led her to engage in commercial sex acts. The girl, identified as victim 1, continued under the control of the abuser until she was 18 years old.
Most of the Hispanic victims suffered from addiction to heroin, crack and Xanax.
The criminal appropriated half of the money that women obtained for sexual acts, and in addition, he sold drugs for twice the price at which he had obtained them.
Díaz-Martínez, of Owings Mills, was the one who balanced the dates between victims and clients. To some he provided photos of the females.
The man also created accounts on networks social to promote illegal business. The sexual encounters took place in a rented apartment and in a storage unit.
Sometimes, the trafficker required the victims to have sexual relations with him without compensation. If the women did not follow the orders, the criminal threatens to retaliate against them.
