Football legend Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pelé, was discharged on Thursday after being hospitalized for three days while undergoing various tests related to cancer treatment.
The information was provided through a statement by the specialists of the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, who affirmed that Pelé “is in good and stable health conditions”.
It is worth noting that In September of 2021 the doctors detected Pelé’s colon cancer, during tests that had been postponed for more than a year due to the pandemic of the coronavirus. He had already been operated on once for the same pathology.
Since then, he has undergone various treatments that include chemotherapy and monthly check-ups to check their effectiveness against cancer.
In recent years, Pelé’s health has also deteriorated due to other causes, such as spinal, hip and knee problems, which have reduced his mobility and forced him to undergo surgery.
Likewise, the former soccer player has suffered some kidney crises, which have also led to his being hospitalized.
