The best soccer players in MLS and Liga MX will meet again this season in the ‘All-Star’ after the first edition of this format that took place in 2021.
Allianz Field in St. Paul, which is the stadium where Minnesota United plays its games, will host the next 10 in August this match that will serve as revenge for last year’s ‘All-Star’, in which the MLS team defeated on penalties to Liga MX after finishing the match 1-1.
This new ‘All-Star’ game is another example of the collaboration between MLS and Liga MX .
“Last year’s meeting between the stars of MLS and Liga MX was the most competitive ‘All-Star Game’ in the history of the event and we are pleased to renew the rivalry between the two leagues this summer“, MLS commissioner Don Garber said in a statement.
The executive president of Liga MX, Mikel Arriola, highlighted “ the great experience” that was lived last year.
“The players gave themselves to the maximum to represent our league and the fans enjoyed an unprecedented match where the followers of each of the 18 teams came together to support the Liga MX team. For us, reliving the experience in this 2022 excites us and fills us with pride”, he added.
