Although he ended up turning himself in to the Police, David Bonola made several mistakes that put the authorities on alert to place him as the main suspect in the murder of almost 21 Stabbed to Orsoyla Gaal, in Forest Hills, Queens.
Among the different pieces of evidence collected by the NYPD agents were some boots, a T-shirt and bandages full of blood that, perhaps, the alleged murderer had mistakenly forgotten.
Bonola had even gone to a nearby hospital, to be treated for injuries to his hands, said New York Police Department Lieutenant Tommy Thompson , of the Northern Queens Homicide Department.
The officer confirmed that there was a relationship between Bonola and Gaal love of at least two years. He had work in Tudor-style housing arrangements in the exclusive neighborhood of Forest Hills. The murder would have occurred after a lawsuit between the two. The mother of two adolescents, one of whom slept on a second level, would have tried to defend herself, which is why she had wounds on her hands.
“We believe that the relationship that Mr. Bonola had with our victim it was an intimate type of relationship and this turned out to be a domestic type dispute that they were having about their relationship,” Thompson said.
The crime would have been committed in the basement of the house, where Bonola easily entered, because he knew the property. The image of the murder weapon was shared by the NYPD.
The authorities have gradually revealed some details of the murder and what happened with Gaal hours before, such as the fact that he was in the Forest Hills Station House bar for almost an hour. She was a regular at the place and the employees regretted her murder.
The NYPD also indicated that there is no greater danger for Gaal’s family, since the alleged murderer confessed to sending the text message with threats. They also don’t think part of the message that Gaal had sent the subject to prison makes sense.
There are few images of the man on his Facebook account, but there are some where he looks with long curly hair, rock style.
Now Bonola, arrested early Thursday, faces charges of murder, criminal manipulation and criminal possession of a weapon.
