The airline JetBlue has not commented on the incident captured on video in which former boxer Mike Tyson began fistfighting a passenger who was on the same plane in which he was traveling to Florida.
Tyson, aged 55, allegedly attacked the traveler after he repeatedly harassed him.
“Unfortunately, Mr. Tyson had an incident on a flight with an aggressive passenger who began harassing him and threw a bottle of water at him while he was seated,” a Tyson representative alleged in a written statement to People.
The images of the altercation show when the ex-boxer turns in his seat and punches the subject, whose identity is unknown.
Before the attack, the subject, supposedly, would have been bothering the other. Tyson left the plane seconds after the attack.
A friend of the victim told TMZ, which first published the images, that Tyson initially tried to be patient with the passenger and even agreed to take a photo with him, but lost control at the other’s insistence. Apparently, the victim was intoxicated.
The images were recorded on a flight this Wednesday that left San Francisco International Airport, in California.
Although agents interviewed the parties, the San Francisco Police Department told the aforementioned magazine that the victim provided very few details about the incident and refused to cooperate with the Police.
Both men were released pending the investigation by agents.
