A 66-year-old teenager is accused of killing Iliana Lily Peters, a girl from 10 years old from Wisconsin, whom he also planned to rape.
The state of Wisconsin has requested bail of one million dollars for the suspect, only identified by the initials C PB.
The minor was arrested and charged with murder and sexual assault in Chippewa County after appearing in court for the first time Wednesday.
Wade Newell, county prosecutor, cited confessions made by the teen, who said he planned to “rape and kill the victim from the beginning when he left the house with her on the road.”
The minor “punched the victim in the stomach, knocked her to the ground, essentially strangled her, beat her with a stick before strangling her to death before he sexually assaulted her,” Newell added.
Prosecutors requested $1 million cash bail for the suspect. or adolescent on the condition that they do not have contact with any minor and do not possess dangerous weapons.
The judge granted the request due to the seriousness of the crime.
Authorities indicated that C PB dated the girl from the same house as Lily, but did not give details of how they knew each other.
Last Monday morning, Lily’s body was found, a few blocks from her aunt’s house, near a trail and a brewery parking lot.
Her father had reported her missing the night before, when she hadn’t returned home from a visit to his family.
During the search, authorities found what appeared to be his bicycle abandoned along the boardwalk and soon discovered his remains.
Lily was a fourth grader at Parkview Elementary School.
Regarding the suspect, although the criminal complaint remains sealed, the charges against the teenager include first degree intentional homicide, first degree sexual assault and first degree sexual assault with a child under the age of 13 resulting in serious bodily harm.
