Authorities in California arrested a man accused of contacting more than 100 children in different states and abroad by posing as a minor to convince them that involved in child pornography.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office reported this Tuesday the arrest of Demetrius Carl Davis, of 20 years. According to authorities, the man posed as a 11-year-old girl named Lizzy through various social media accounts.
The investigation of that police force began in December of 2021 after they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about an internet profile in which the administrator contacted minors between the ages of 6 to 13 years.
Search warrants led to the seizure of cell phones used to commit the crimes, as well as videos and images in which minors they were exposed in a pornographic manner.
Sergeant Rod Grassmann explained that the suspect’s perversions spread outside the United States.
“At that time, we did not have enough evidence to arrest him on the spot, but we took all the electronic equipment,” explained the police spokesman.
“For the past few months, we have analyzed all of this with forensic tools and have identified 80 different victims and others 15 to 20 at the international level, which we have not yet identified”, he specified.
The defendant used sexually explicit language to address the victims, in addition to sending them child pornography content and instructing them to make videos of this type , in some cases between siblings.
The incidents were reported between the end of 2020 and entered in 2020. Davis faces charges of committing lewd and lascivious acts against minors under 14 years old, according to national media such as Crime Online and local media such as KXTV and KCRA.
