Chelsea FC is running out of time to consummate its sale and only has a few weeks left to complete the transaction, according to Nadine Dorries, the British Secretary of State for Digital Affairs, Culture, Media and Sport. .

In an interview with the BBC, Dorries stressed that the sale of the English team has to happen soon.

“Chelsea is in an emergency situation. There is very little time left for the sale to take place. It has to happen soon”, he stressed.

The situation is so worrying that in the interview they asked him what would happen if they were unable to sell the equipment within the agreed time. Given this, the minister preferred not to comment, and stressed that they only have weeks to sell it.

Chelsea was offered for sale by its owner, the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, before the English government before they imposed sanctions against it for Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine.

The team has received several limitations such as the impossibility of signing players, or renewing those who are already in the squad.
