The Ukrainian soccer team will return to the pitch six months after its last match to face the next one 11 in May with the German Borussia Monchengladbach, in a friendly match whose profits will go to help the Ukrainian people.
“We are very happy to be able to help the Ukrainian Association through of this match and we hope that as many football fans as possible from all over the country will come to the stadium and make a donation to a good cause by buying a ticket,” said Borussia CEO Stephan Schippers.
The match, which will be played at the Borussia Park in Moenchengladbach, will be the first for the Ukrainian team since the invasion of the Slavic country by Russia.
A clash that will serve Ukraine, which played its last game last 16 November against Bosnia and Herzegovina, to prepare for the qualifying tie for the World Cup in Qatar 2022 that will face Scotland in Glasgow on June 1.
In the event of defeating the Scottish team, they would face Wales four days later, on June 5, in Cardiff, in a match in which the winner will ensure their presence in the final phase of the World Cup in Qatar. .
