Residents of a community in Lima, Peru, beat up the alleged rapist of a 6-year-old girl.
Images reviewed this week by Univision’s Primer Impacto program show the man, 32 years old, on the ground while a group of people kicks him, punches him and even climb on top of him.
The beating began in the home of the suspect, identified as David Cabello, and ended outside.
If it had not been for the arrival of a police officer, the subject would be dead in these moments.
“If we, gentlemen, had found out that this man had more than three complaints (for sexual abuse), and that he was already used to doing that, that subject would be dead right now, because nobody I knew it. A plainclothes policeman came to arrest him. A policeman arrived, and thanks to that policeman, that man is alive”, stated Lisbeth Ramos, owner of the space where the man lived.
The mother of the minor found out about the alleged abuse later that the little girl started screaming when she opened the door to her room.
“’Mom, mom, close the door, the uncle is going to enter my room!’”, he would have the girl told the woman.
The victim, who was the niece of the alleged attacker , feared that the man would abuse her again.
“She tells me that the uncle had entered my room and that he had also dragged her into the room, inviting her to chocolate”, the parent reported.
After the minor’s confession, the neighbors organized to try to lynch the aggressor.
“They had to break the door to to be able to open him, and enter by force to get him out. That is where they were able to stop him. But, at the moment when they are beating him, he accepts and apologizes and that it will not happen again”, added the woman.
The mother hopes that the man will remain in jail.
“Put him in jail. Since in Peru you cannot give the death penalty. We ask that there be that, since it is not possible, that they give him a life sentence, and not let him go free, ”said the Peruvian.
