The police reported that 15 people were injured after a “Pedal Pub” overturned while operating in Atlanta last Saturday.
The incident occurred around 6: 30 pm local time near W Peachtree St and 14th St NE when the electric bike “tipped over while turning” with the 15 people on board, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Shortly after, the driver of the business, which is actually a huge electric bicycle, has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, in addition to a business permit violation, the department said in its statement Sunday.
Two people were listed in critical condition and three people in serious condition following the crash, an Atlanta Fire & Rescue spokeswoman said. , Alyssa Richardson, according to NBC News; while others 10 suffered minor injuries, he added.

A witness told FOX 5 Atlanta that he saw the vehicle “roll onto its side” from a nearby balcony shortly after the accident. She claims that people quickly rushed to the aid of the victims, calling it an “unbelievable and emotional” scene.
“Immediately, the public came out, ran out of their cars, picked them up and saved the people underneath,” he explained, later adding that “people were getting out of this situation just by sitting on the curb and people were clearly hurt,” he said.
“But the public, they were so impressed, they intervened so quickly,” he continued. “I saw this man on the street, he started directing traffic with his naked…instantly.”
The Atlanta Police Department is investigating the accident.
