The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has made some announcements regarding the 95 edition of the awards that will take place next year at the Dolby Theater.
As it has done for decades, ABC will re-broadcast the ceremony that has been set for Sunday 10 of March 2023, in an international broadcast that has led uninterruptedly since 1976 and that, according to the Academy , reaches up to 200 territories spread throughout the world.
Other key dates include the nomination vote between the 12 and 17 January 2023, and the announcement of the Oscar nominations on January 24.
Before the awards ceremony, the productions that aspire to be in the Oscars must present their projects to the general categories with a date limit on 15 of November of this year.
The Annual Governors Awards will be held on Saturday 19 November 2022 and the annual Oscar Nominees Luncheon will be held on Monday 13 February 2023.
Various details are still to be determined, as well as who will be the host. At the gala last 27 in March, Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes were in charge of hosting.
On the other hand, the Hollywood Academy will seek in this new edition to redeem itself from the controversial slap in the face of Oscar winner Will Smith to comedian Chris Rock, in one of the biggest controversies of its history.
Smith was banned from all events related to the institution, including the Oscars.
“For a period of 12 years, beginning on April 8, Mr. Smith You will not be able to participate in any event or program, in person or virtually”, it was as announced by the president of the Academy, David Rubin, and Dawn Hudson through a letter released to the media.
