The Italian coach of Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, spoke prior to the Champions League final against Liverpool this Saturday and sent a warning to his players with the intention that they do not trust each other and try to give their best in what will be the last game of the season for both teams.
Ancelotti began by talking about his experiences in the different finals and recalled that the best his team has played was precisely against the ‘Reds’ when he directed AC Milan, and lost it.
“I have a good memory of all my finals and it is a bit strange to think that the one we played the best, against Liverpool in 2005, I have lost. I’m not going to tell the players to play badly, but in a final anything can happen and you have to be ready for anything”, he stressed.
In that sense, the Italian, who guided Real Madrid to win ‘La Décima Orejona’, pointed out that they have worked hard thinking about this final but that he understands that in these types of games not only be prepared, because there are things that go beyond gaming.
“We have had time to prepare it well. We have arrived well at this moment, we are going to give the best we have, but I am not convinced that it will be enough to win because in football there is something that you cannot control, ”he pointed out.
Finally, Carlo Ancelotti was blunt in stating that his players have done their best to get to where they are, but he understands that when you reach a final, everything that has been done before doesn’t matter, you have to play this match minded to win.
“We deserved to reach the final for quality, because if you don’t have it you won’t get there, but it’s not enough in today’s football. Talent must be combined with commitment. The history of the club has pushed us into difficulty. Winning the final we have to deserve tomorrow”, he sentenced.
