Some 26 fans of Deportivo Cali were charged this Friday, in Argentina, accused of “disobedience and resistance to authority and carrying non-conventional weapons”. This was reported by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Buenos Aires.

The fans of the Colombian team were arrested between Wednesday and Thursday, prior to the match between Deportivo Cali and Boca Juniors, in La Bombonera, for the sixth and last day of Group E of the Copa Libertadores. Eight were apprehended on Wednesday at the Obelisk, as part of a “flag” in support of the team.

“The members of the City Police, who were carrying out prevention tasks, found them three white weapons in their possession – a knife, a machete and a razor – for which they were arrested”, reported the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Buenos Aires in a statement.

The 18 remaining were arrested the next day. According to the police officers, they had in their possession 24 knives, four razors, five screwdrivers, an iron with a point and handle wood; a metal mitten, five unused smoke flares and a large number of glass bottles of alcoholic beverages.

They also found 83 entries, 33 of them of protocol with the inscription prohibited its sale. After being charged, the 26 fans were released.

The match between Boca Juniors and Deportivo Cali had an important security operation due to clashes between ultras of the Colombian team and those of Racing Club.

Attack by fans of Racing

This Wednesday, a group of ultras from Racing Club attacked fans of the Colombian team on a train in the province of Buenos Aires, whom they They accuse them of having stolen a flag, and injured several of them.

In the videos broadcast, several Colombians are seen bloodied and with cuts on their bodies, made with knives or bottles. The attack occurred at the Gerli train station, in the province of Buenos Aires, less than three kilometers from the Racing Club stadium.

In recent days, videos were broadcast on social networks in which ultras from Cali celebrated having stolen a flag from Racing, who assured that they would take revenge.
