10-year-old-boy-from-florida-was-arrested-for-allegedly-threatening-a-mass-shooting-via-text-message

A 10 year old boy from Florida was arrested on Saturday and charged with threatening in writing to carry out a mass shooting, police reported.

Police stated that the boy, whose identity has not been revealed, allegedly sent a threatening text message, for which the School Threats Enforcement Team was immediately notified and an analytical investigation began, Fox News reported.

The case was taken over by the Juvenile Services Criminal Investigations Division because of the child’s age. Police arrested him after detectives interviewed him and determined probable cause for his arrest.

“This student’s behavior is disgusting, especially after the recent tragedy in Uvalde, Texas,” reported the Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno. “Making sure our children are safe is paramount. We will have law and order in our schools. My team did not hesitate a second, not a second to investigate this threat”.

“This is not the time to act like a petty criminal”, warned Marceno, who pointed out that it is not fun, because the minor made a false threat and is now experiencing real consequences.

Regarding the most recent mass shooting, which occurred in Uvalde, Texas, Marceno spoke out against the person responsible for the massacre, Salvador Ramos, of 18 years, which ended the lives of 19 children and two teachers.

“You can’t shoot our children,” Marceno said during a press conference after the shooting.

Law enforcement officials in Uvalde are currently in the midst of controversy over their response to the deadly shooting, which was admitted by authorities as ineffective, something that the Texas Governor, Republican Greg Abbott recalled at a news conference on Friday, noting that he was “abs totally furious” for being “deceived” by law enforcement officers.
