Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, said on Twitter that billionaires are not bad. Musk said on Twitter that it is morally wrong and foolish to use the word ‘billionaire’ as a pejorative, since that person is using their wealth to create products that make millions of people happy.
He added that, if he could, he would eliminate charitable deductions and class action lawsuits.
Musk was responding to a tweet that read: “I feel like billionaires are more benign when they’re trying to make money and more nefarious when they spend it trying to do good.”
Musk realized a Twitter poll, asking his 95 millions of followers who they trust least: politicians or billionaires. As of noon Sunday, the 26.7% of the 3.3 million respondents said they had less trust in politicians.
Then, the millionaire tagged Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who recently told Bloomberg she wanted to replace her Tesla with an electric vehicle made by a company that supports unionization.
Musk challenged the Democratic congresswoman to do the same survey with your own followers. Musk has largely opposed Tesla unionization in the past.
“A union is just another corporation. It’s much better for companies to compete on your skills, so you have maximum choice,” Musk said in another tweet.
The tweets in favor of Musk’s billionaires were published when the World Economic Forum in Davos came to an end.
