The driver of the Red Bull Formula 1 team, Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez, was crowned this Sunday at the Monaco Grand Prix and the great race he carried out was highlighted by great exponents of Mexican and world sports such as the case of Miguel Herrera, coach of Tigres UANL, or the former FC Barcelona player, Rafa Márquez.

Similarly, Hirving Lozano, Napoli’s Mexican winger, or the president of the World Boxing Council (WBC) Mauricio Sulaimán, also demonstrated to send a warm congratulations to Pérez after the race.

Miguel Herrera, Pérez’s friend and former Mexican coach, joined the celebration with an image of Checo on his Instagram.

For his part, Rafa Márquez, former star of Barcelona in the Spanish league and AS Monaco in French football, also applauded his compatriot.

“Another Mexican triumphing in Monaco, huge Checo Pérez , great attitude“, was his message on social networks in reference also to his successful time in Monaco.

Another congratulations came from Mauricio Sulaimán, president of the WBC, who recognized that Pérez’s feat is to be recorded in gold letters.

“It is a great moment for Mexican sports. This triumph of Checo Pérez is to be engraved in gold letters”, commented Sulaimán.

“We have ‘Canelo’ (Álvarez) in boxing, (Julio) Urías in baseball and Checo with this impressive victory. Today, just like him, we all shed tears of happiness,” added the manager.

Hirving Lozano, a winger from the Italian Nápoli, was not left out of the acknowledgments through the web.

“You are great, Checo Pérez”, Lozano dedicated to him along with a photograph of Sergio.

Finally, the Mexican soccer champion and Clausura MX finalist, Atlas, also celebrated the victory of the man from Jalisco on his social networks.

“Jalisco is the land of champions. Congratulations Checo Pérez for taking the Monaco Grand Prix. May this success be the door to a new challenge in your career”, was the message of the current winner.

Other celebrities such as the legend of wrestling, the Son of the Saint, and the silver medalist in London 2012, the goalkeeper Aída Román, also stood out Perez’s feat.

The victory in Monaco made Pérez the Mexican with the most victories in the highest category of motorsports, reaching three and surpassing Pedro Rodríguez, who has two.
