The famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci, known as The Mona Lisa, suffered a cake attack when a man threw a piece of this dessert at him on Sunday. Luckily, the painting was protected by glass, and the nougat did not touch it. The Mona Lisa is on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris.

According to witnesses, the man who threw the cake was in a wheelchair and was wearing a wig and hat. However, the person suddenly got up from his chair, approached the work and threw the cake at him.

Museum security guards rushed to expel the man room, while the rest of those present were taking videos and photographs of the entire incident.

While they were taking him out, the man made comments in favor of the environment.

The painting, which was made between 1503 and 1519 by Leonardo da Vinci, was not affected because it was protected by safety glass, which is where the cake pieces hit.

It should be noted that the incident did not escalate, as Louvre security workers rushed to remove the attacker from the building and clean the glass.

This is not it is the first time that the famous painting receives an attack. In the 1950s, a man threw sulfuric acid at it and a Bolivian student threw a stone at it. Also, a Russian tourist threw a cup of tea at 2009.
