A disturbing video has gone viral on social networks in which an alleged keeper of the Jamaica Zoo, near Santa Cruz in St Elizabeth, lost one of his fingers after making fun of a caged lion in front of visitors to the park.

According to what is shown in the images broadcast by the Jamaican media Jamaica Observer, the man put his hands through the bars of the cage to taunt the animal in order to impress visitors, however, in a kind of animal instinct, the lion clenched its jaw around the worker’s fingers.

You can see the man screaming and trying to get out of the lion’s clutches, while the visitors were horrified by the fact.

After several attempts to get away, the man finally managed to free himself and fell to the ground, but he lost one of his fingers in the process.

In the strong images you can see the tendon of a finger that falls from the lion’s mouth.
