At least five positive cases of covid-19 have been detected during the last hours in the concentration of the Mexican National Team.

These are the members of the Mexican delegation that is preparing to face the friendly matches against Uruguay and Ecuador, ahead of the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

The information was provided through the social networks of the Aztec team, where it was explained that several PCR tests were carried out on the team’s personnel, as part of the health protocol , and the results showed five infections, although none presented symptoms.

The positive cases correspond to a player, whose identity was not specified, and four workers who are members of the staff.

“The General Sports Directorate informs that as part of the sanitary measures that are part of the health protocols of the Mexican National Team, yesterday PCR control tests were performed on all members of the delegation in Dallas“, reads the letter.

El Tri also reported that the sanitary measures stipulated in the protocol will continue, in order to prevent further contagion among the members of the Mexican team.

It is worth noting that Mexico will face Uruguay next Thursday in Phoenix, and on June 5 will play another friendly against Ecuador.
