Miami Marlins Dominican baseball player, Jesús Sánchez, became this Monday the player with the longest home run so far this season by connecting a dantesque hit against the Colorado Rockies.

During the third inning of the match between the Marlins and Rockies, Sánchez went to the plate and caught a slider from the local starter at Coors Field, Ryan Feltner, to get the ball off 496 feet and deposit it on the third floor of the stadium.

The home run of Sánchez became the biggest four-base hit so far this MLB season 2022, surpassing by more 20 feet connected by Mike Trout for Angels last 14 in April against Texas Rangers.

Similarly, the Latino’s connection became the greatest HR for a left-handed hitter in the Colorado stadium and the second greatest since the 504 feet of right-hander Giancarlo Stanton when he was also playing for Miami.

The homer was the fifth of the season for Sánchez, in what has been his second full campaign in the Majors; he hit 14 HR on 64 encounters during 2021.

In addition, the homer served to try to get out of the slump in which Sánchez found himself during May, the month in which he batted just .78 of average in 78 visits.
