Strange as it may sound, Britney Spears has never attended Vogue’s annual fundraising gala, the MET Gala, despite her outsized celebrity status. And although this year she was supposed to attend, there is a powerful reason that forced her to stay home.
Along with a video in which she appears hugging a cat, Britney wrote on Instagram what was the reason: “I was going to go to the MET Gala but instead I took a bath and put on my pajamas. I hate flying”.
These statements come just a few days after the singer of ‘…Baby One More Time’ -who regained control of her financial assets after being released from a guardianship governed by her family, November 2021- insisted that she is now “happier than ever” despite having suffered a miscarriage earlier this month.
Explaining that she wants to stop talking about her “traumatic” guardianship, she wrote on Instagram: “I feel like I would entertain the people who hurt me. I do think they would secretly like the embarrassment I would spend bringing the subject up with 100%. They will no longer get the best of me and humiliate me. I have never been happier in my life, in the last few months since it’s over, besides my miscarriage.”
The singer warned that she will write a book to tell all her followers about her terrifying experience. “My spirit feels lighter and now I genuinely laugh and smile and my eyes want more every day. Nobody should go through what I went through. I have proposed to capture my experience through a book. I’m writing. Everything is written on pages that people will hold with their own hands and I hope to have a better understanding.”
