uefa-removed-two-real-madrid-players-from-its-list-of-champions

Real Madrid continues to celebrate its fourteenth “Orejona” in its history in style, after beating Liverpool one goal to nil. However, two days after their victory, UEFA has made the decision to remove two Real Madrid players from the list of champions; the Spanish midfielder Isco Alarcón and the goalkeeper Lunin.

Both footballers were present in Paris, received their champions medal and posed next to a new orejona. However, for UEFA they are not true winners for the simple fact of not having played a single second this season in the most beautiful tournament at club level.

It is important to highlight that both Isco and Lunin were the only two players from the first team who were not on the pitch with the Merengues this season in the UEFA Champions League.

Furthermore, after the conquest of the “Orejona” by Real Madrid, Isco Alarcón automatically entered the a select group of footballers from the merengue team with five or more Champions Leagues in their careers.

Finally, the midfielder closed his career with Real Madrid with a flourish, although in recent seasons he has spent more time on the bench than on the field. Despite this, he won the League, the UEFA Champions League and the Copa del Rey.
